The Bright Africa Foundation Sewing and Tailoring School weaves creativity with commerce, providing a comprehensive training ground for aspiring Sata, Taba, and Cyiri women and young ladies who are not attending school. Our 6-month program takes students from basic stitch mechanics to advanced garment design, fabric sourcing, and business management. By equipping local talent with the tools to design, alter, and repair clothing, we are transforming a daily necessity into an engine for self-reliance. Graduates leave ready to open independent tailor shops, supply local markets, and clothe their communities, stitching together a path toward sustainable livelihoods and vibrant local economies.
The Fall 2025 Class had 12 amazing graduates. The Spring 2026 class is underway but still needs more funding for graduate project materials. It takes only $600 for 12 students to complete the 6-month course.
We currently own 4 sewing machines shared amongst all 12 students. If you feel it on your heart to donate for another sewing manual foot-operated machine, they are $200. We are praying for a total of 6 machines so the students can work in pairs in the upcoming classes.
